What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM that connects some newer devices to the STRATA network. Some physical SIMs are now being replaced by embedded SIMs — or eSIM for short. They’re blank SIMs pre-built into your device that download plans instantly, so unlike physical SIM cards, they never need to be swapped out of your phone or replaced — they update automatically.
Why use an eSIM?
An eSIM gives you more flexibility to manage your wireless plan and eSIM-compatible device.
- You download an eSIM and activate it, so you don't have to manage a physical SIM card.
- For Apple devices with eSIM capabilities, you don't have to order a card or go to a store to get one.
- Some devices with eSIM capabilities can support more than one phone number.
How do I use an eSIM?
Your eSIM will be downloaded to your device over Wi-Fi. You should not notice any difference in terms of service from a physical SIM card.
How do I get started with my eSIM?
Please come to your nearest STRATA Networks location and speak with a customer service representative to start the eSIM process.
Device Instructions
While setting up your iPhone, you will need a Wi-Fi connection on your phone and might have to install a STRATA cellular plan. If so, follow the prompts to download your eSIM.
If you didn’t install the cellular plan during setup, follow these instructions:
- Open Settings.
- 2. Select STRATA Cellular Plan Ready to be Installed. (It may be inside the More for Your iPhone notification group.)
- 3. Follow the prompts.
Alternatively, you may have received an eSIM activation card with a QR code from STRATA Networks. You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection on your phone.
Follow these steps to install your eSIM from a QR code:
- Open Settings.
- Select Cellular.
- Choose Add cellular plan.
- Open and point your camera at the QR code on your eSIM activation card until you see "Installing cellular plan."
If your Apple smartphone still doesn’t have wireless service, you may need to activate your device. Call 435-622-5007 for assistance.
You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection on your phone and an eSIM activation card with a QR code from STRATA Networks. To download your eSIM, open your camera app, point the camera at the QR code, and follow the prompts.
If you can’t scan the QR code with your camera, follow these steps:
- Open Settings.
- Select Connections.
- Select SIM card manager.
- Select Add mobile plan.
- Follow the prompts to scan the QR code on your eSIM activation card from STRATA Networks.
If your Samsung smartphone still doesn’t have wireless service, you may need to activate your device. Call 435-622-5007 for assistance.
