What Is Tarana
Tarana is a new system using the latest technology for Wireless Internet Access. This technology runs on Strata’s Radio Spectrum which covers the entire Uintah Basin.
There are Base Nodes attached to the towers and a Remote Node attached to the customer’s home, as seen in the pictures below.

Remote Node on customer’s home
The node is then plugged into a POE (Power Over Ethernet) via an outside Ethernet Cable and into a Calix U6 device. The customer will have all the Managed WIFI capabilities as Fiber/Copper Customers.
Maps
In Maps, you will see the NGWA Service
Next Gen FWA 50/10
OR
Maps will be updated every night if changes are made for more locations.
If Maps says they are qualified for the Next Gen FWA, then you should not have to confirm with Engineering. There will be some exceptions when Fiber/copper is either not available or at very low speeds, then you can confirm with engineering.
Billing
When speaking with customers, we would like to focus more on devices connected than speed. Essential (1-6 devices) and Ultimate (7+ devices) plans will be available for this service.
The billing code is set up to differentiate between the services.
Residential Internet
You will place an order like normal, choosing the NGWA rate.
You will charge the $25 connection fee for the service and any deposit applicable.
A technician will go out to confirm the line of sight to the tower and install the device with the U6. You will need to inform the customer that the device will get mounted on their home.
*If the customer does not, or cannot have it mounted to the home, there is the option of installing the node on a pole for an additional cost. More information will be provided as it becomes available for the pole mount.*
All troubleshooting will go through the NOC, and they will consult the Wireless RAN group if the NOC needs assistance.
Conclusion
This is the process for NGWA. If you have any questions, Please reach out to your Lead or Supervisors.
